amplified to rock
Sorry to disappoint, but updates are going to be few and far between for a little while. My office building is being remodeled, and I've been moved from my cozy little office to a big open area where lots of people can watch what I am doing. I hate it. I've been moved into the accounting department, which is not full of boring middle aged men, but boring middle-aged women who get excited over things like Hummels and Christmas ornaments shaped like angels. Yes, I'm in hell. It will be at least two weeks before I get my office back.
Besides, I'm leaving tomorrow night to go to Decatur anyway. I'm spending four glorious days with my beloved Aaron, and possibly meeting up with Andrea. I'll try to post from Decatur, but no promises, okay?
It's a busy, busy day in the world of Websites of My Friends: Hellsbelle's
new domain has gone live.
Love That Dirty Water is the best damn journal on the whole entire web, and I do mean that. Nothing makes me laugh like Hellsbelle talking about
Metallica.
Hellsblog has also relocated to the new domain, and the fairly new (and really cool) journal of
Whatsername is there as well. Go look.
Also, Aaron's new domain is up and running now. He's finally removed that picture of Dr. Laura from his webcam page. It was giving me the creeps. It has now been replaced with a pretentious (har) grayscale picture. If he decides to leave the cam running on a fairly regular basis, you have a pretty good chance of seeing me on it this weekend, as I'll be down in Decatur from Thursday through Monday. Since I still haven't managed to get my own cam up and running, that's your big chance.
There's a new topic in the forum: Halloween costumes. You know, you can post questions in the forum if you like. It's been really dead lately.
New webzine alert:
Line and Ink. It's pretty much the same old stuff: a gushing interview with At the Drive In (I still have not bought that album, and have no plans to--I refuse to believe the hype), some reviews of the usual stuff (Modest Mouse, Sunny Day Real Estate, Jimmy Eat World, etc.), and a few other interviews. (But hey, no overwrought blather about Radiohead--well, not yet.) The design is pretty bad--very Microsoft FrontPage, with lots of absurdly large bold text where it shouldn't be (like the text of interviews). A little more consistency between the pages would definitely help. I like the focus on interviews rather than reviews, though. The world does not need more record reviews. And there's no columns--there's another plus.
