Last December, I was over at Ray's. I decided that I wanted to listen to some music because Ray was busy in the math help room. So I went to his little portable CD player and opened it. Inside, I found...Journey's Greatest Hits. I knew he owned the CD, but I didn't know he actually listened to it.
Needless to say, it offended my snobbish indie-rock sensibilities.
I didn't say anything to Ray about it. But I told Matt when I got home.
A few weeks later, Ray, Matt, and I were eating dinner. I went to the bathroom, and when I came back, Ray said, "So, you don't like my Journey CD?"
I got a little embarassed. It's one thing to dis on someone's musical tastes, it's another thing to get called on it. This event is now called Journeygate and will live in infamy forevermore. It's gone from being embarassing to just being funny.
